Sunday’s Best WNBA Player Prop Picks

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Jonquel Jones Under 3.5 1st Quarter Points (-115)

Coming off a tremendous 20-point, 13-rebound performance against Atlanta, Jonquel Jones would normally be in a fantastic spot to clear this first-quarter total. However, there are a couple of standout reasons why we are taking the lower end of this prop in this game.

The fact Jones is usually the first player to sub out for the Liberty has to be stated. The veteran forward has only exceeded eight or more minutes in the first quarter on three occasions over the last 16 games.

Jones has scored more than 3.5 first-quarter points in only three of the previous 18 contests. This includes two games against Las Vegas where she averaged 6.5 minutes and 2 points.

It's highly possible that A'ja Wilson will be taking defensive responsibilities against the New York forward. Considering Wilson led the WNBA in blocks this season, finding a clear look to the basket may prove highly difficult for Jones.

A'ja Wilson Top Points Scorer (+115)

Speaking of A'ja Wilson, she has an opportunity to not only lead the game in scoring- but may in fact lead the entire slate in baskets made. The opponent is surely a formidable one, however, the Liberty weren't able to limit Wilson during the 2023 playoffs, and it's possible we see a repeat of that success in this series.

On the season, Wilson has scored at least 28-29 points in 10 games, 30 points on 11 occasions, and dropped 40+ two times. The Las Vegas center also averaged 22 points in two games against the Liberty in 2024.

New York is not devoid of size or skill, by any means, so this selection will certainly come with a fare share of sweat. Yet, given the plus odds, it's simply too difficult to pass up on the league MVP, who led the WNBA in points scored.

Kelsey Plum Under 3.5 Assists (-120)

This total is certainly lower than we would normally feel comfortable with considering the high volume of minutes Plum receives. However, Las Vegas is going to need their star shooting guard to score as much as possible if they want to secure a tough playoff win on the road.

In the three previous games against the Liberty this season, Plum only cleared 3.5 assists on one occasion. Over the last eight contests, including two of the playoff variety, the veteran guard had more than this desired assist total in just two games.

Chelsea Gray predominately assumes the quarterback role for the Aces, with Jackie Young following behind with an average of 5.3 assists each contest, and five or more assists in the last 4-of-5 games.

Napheesa Collier Top 1st Quarter Points Scorer (+185)

The Minnesota forward has absolutely smashed during the first round of the 2024 playoffs and will look to continue the high-scoring production in the opening contest against the Connecticut Sun.

The Olympic Gold Medalist has scored a jaw-dropping 38 points or more in the last two contests on 63.3% shooting from the field. In these games, Collier averaged 10 minutes, 12 points, and seven field-goal attempts in the first quarter.

Minnesota is looking to their superstar early and often, and the results have been a resounding success, with two straight games where the Lynx have finished with over 100 points scored.

There is no way we can pass up such wonderful odds on a player who's performing at such a high level.

Alyssa Thomas Under 31.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-110)

We close out the selections for the day with an Under that appears to be based on recent performances and season success against the opponent rather than this specific contest. The Minnesota Lynx are one of the toughest defensive teams in the league, so we are partial to the lower end of this total.

Alyssa Thomas flirts with triple-double production every time she is on the floor. On the season, the Connecticut forward averaged  10.6 points, with 8.4 rebounds, and 7.9 assists. Five extra counting stats may not seem like a lot, yet it is when you consider the Lynx own the second-highest defensive rating in the WNBA.

Thomas has cleared this total in both games during the playoffs, however, this was against the Indiana Fever, who are amongst the league leaders in regards to pace. This contest should see a much slower pace, which would result in fewer opportunity for points, rebounds, and assists.

Enjoy the games today, and good luck with your picks!
