WNBA Playoffs Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (9/26)
The semifinals for the WNBA Playoffs continue tonight with a pair of Game 2âs between the Connecticut Sun and the New York Liberty and Dallas Wings and Las Vegas Aces!
It has been quite a successful season, so I hope you have tailed throughout the year. After falling by double-digits in Game 1, the Liberty hope to bounce back in a big way to tie the series up before inducing a panic. Meanwhile, the Aces seek to continue exerting their dominance as the clear title favorite. It should be a pair of awesome games.
Here are my best bets for each game:

Connecticut Sun at New York Liberty
In Game 2 tonight the New York Liberty find themselves as roughly an eight-point favorite with the total set around 161.5. After containing the Liberty to 63 points in game one, the Sun hope to ride the backs of DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas to a throttling two-game lead. The distribution for Connecticut was solid on Monday, with four of the five starters reaching double-digit scoring while the superstar Thomas added 10 assists.
The trouble with Connecticut is while their defense is stout, I don't expect them to contain Breanna Stewart to 0-8 from beyond the arc tonight. The Liberty shot under 30 percent from deep, with just a 33.8 percent rate from the field.
Stephanie White did a solid job scheming against New York, but there's only so much to do before they can adjust and have more bounces go their way. In the regular season, the Liberty went 4-0 against the Sun. Now there is an overtime victory in there, but there's also a 30-point drubbing.
If Connecticut hopes to continue their winning ways, Thomas has to get more involved in the scoring. Eight points may have worked before, but I can't imagine it will work again, especially if their role players don't continue with impressive performances. I see the one-two punch of Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu showing up tonight in a big-time bounce-back performance, highlighting their top-of-the-line offensive rating and winning in impressive fashion.
Bet: New York Liberty Alternate Line -11.5 (+145)
Dallas Wings at Las Vegas Aces
After winning in ways the Aces know how to win - by double-digits - they sit at 10.5-point favorites with the total set around 175.5 in Game 2 of the semifinal matchup against the Dallas Wings.
A'ja Wilson went nuclear in Game 1, going 15-21 from the field with a 34-point outing. Kelsey Plum added 25 points with a 5-10 effort from beyond the arc, as well. While Dallas' sixth-ranked defensive rating doesn't bode well for facing the juggernaut of the Aces, I have to imagine them stepping up more on the side of the floor.
The Wings are the third-ranked pace-of-play team in the WNBA, but trying to keep up with the Aces in a shootout is like trying to thread a needle with your hands tied behind your back; it's just not happening. If they slow things down and lean on their solid defensive rebounding and playmakers in Arike Ogunbowale and Natasha Howard, they might have a better chance.
Dallas will need to find an answer for Wilson in the paint. Even if they limit her to a fractional amount, they have a much better chance of competing. I always seek regression. While the Aces are always capable of a 100-plus point blowout, I trust in the Wings' ability to bounce back and, at least, hold the Aces at bay enough for the point total to hit the under.
Bet: Under 175.5 (-110)
