Connecticut Sun at Minnesota Lynx – Game 5

  • Leg 1: Sun +4.5 (-110)
  • Leg 2: Under 151.5 Total Points (-114)
  • Leg 3: Alyssa Thomas To Score 10+ Points (-430)
  • Leg 4: DiJonai Carrington To Score 10+ Points (-290)
  • Leg 5: Napheesa Collier To Score 20+ Points (-158)

In Game 4 in Connecticut, the Lynx has a chance to close things out. Minnesota actually fired out to a 22-15 lead after the first quarter, and led 50-43 at halftime after a high-scoring 2nd quarter. However, Connecticut came out with renewed vigor in the third quarter, outscoring Minnesota 25-13 to pull away.

Minnesota ended up shooting just 46.7% (28-of-60) from the field while hitting 38.5% (10-of-26) from behind the 3-point line. They were a solid 88.9% (16-of-18) from the free-throw line, one of the reasons it was able to hang around. The Lynx’s undoing was the fact it turned the ball over 13 times, to just nine turnovers for the Sun, and it had a minus-2 rebounding margin.

The Lynx, as usual, were led by Napheesa Collier, who went for 29 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, a steal, and a blocked shot, while hitting 9-of-15 from the field, and 2-of-3 from behind the arc. She was 9-of-10 from the charity stripe, too. However, she and Courtney Williams were the only two starters to score in double digits. Kayla McBride was very disappointing with just five points on 2-of-6 shooting, as she was mostly a non-factor. Natisha Heideman helped out with 16 points off the bench in 23 minutes on an efficient 6-of-10 to pick up some of the offensive slack.

Connecticut was much more balanced, with four starters going for 15 or more points. Tyasha Harris had a team-high 20 points, while Alyssa Thomas was good for 18 points and 11 assists for the team’s only double-double. Harris dropped in four triples, too, while Dewanna Bonner and DiJonai Carrington chipped in with one blocked shot a piece, as did Marina Mabrey.

In this playoff series, the Under cashed in each of the first two games in the Twin Cities, while the Over cashed in Games 3 and 4 in the Nutmeg State.

We’ll lean Under in this decisive game, as we should see some rubber arms with a lot of nerves, given the circumstances and weight of the game. Take the Sun and the points, too, as this game could come right down to the final possession. Connecticut is 2-1 ATS in the Twin Cities this season, so it won’t be bothered by playing in hostile territory.

For player props, in the first SGP, we’ll go with Thomas and Carrington to simply get into double digits, while Collier is a good bet to get to 20 points. We’ll keep it simple for the chance to multiply our money by nearly 10 times.

Connecticut Sun at Minnesota Lynx – Game 5

  • Leg 1: Under 151.5 Total Points (-114)
  • Leg 2: Alyssa Thomas To Score 10+ Points (-430)
  • Leg 3: Napheesa Collier To Score 20+ Points (-158)
  • Leg 4: DeWanna Bonner To Record 6+ Rebounds (-235)
  • Leg 5: Bridget Carleton 1+ Made Three (-1000)
  • Leg 6: Kayla McBride 1+ Made Three (-900)

In the second SGP, we’ll keep Miller and Collier in the mix for scoring, as well as playing the Under. In addition, Bonner is a strong play to record at least six boards. She pulled down eight rebounds in Game 4 against the Lynx, and the 37-year-old veteran has managed six or more rebounds in all four games of this series, and all six postseason games to date. This is about as strong of a player prop as there is on the board.

In addition, you would never, even bet these particular props straight up. Minnesota’s Bridget Carleton (-1000) and Kayle McBride (-900) are not worth playing straight up, but they are worth including in a multi-leg SGP to pump up your potential payout.
