(Odds courtesy of BetOnline)

SummerSlam 2024 Betting Odds (Singles Matches)

Bron Breakker (-3000) Sami Zayn (+900) *Champion
Drew McIntyre (-325) CM Punk (+215)
Cody Rhodes (-5000) *Champion Solo Sikoa (+1200)
LA Knight (-450) Logan Paul (+275) *Champion
Liv Morgan (-500) *Champion Rhea Ripley (+350)
Gunther (-500) Damian Priest (+300) *Champion
Nia Jax (-170) Bayley (+130) *Champion

Best Bet: Bron Breakker (-3000) vs. Sami Zayn (+900)

Sami Zayn has been the WWE Intercontinental Champion since WrestleMania XL when he took the belt off Gunther (who is the odds-on favorite at -500 to defeat Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship on Saturday). Zayn’s 119-day reign will end at the hands (or running spear) of a potential future WWE pillar in Bron Breakker. Breakker has wrestled in eight matches upon his addition to the Raw roster in May. Three of those matches resulted in DQ finishes, in which Breakker lost all three. The other five matches? Breaker went 4-1, including a victory over Ilja Dragunov in a No. 1 contenders match for this Intercontinental Title match.

The former two-time NXT Champion, Breaker has been built up as an unstoppable force since his call-up from NXT to RAW, and the Intercontinental title is the first step of a potentially dominant long WWE career. The Intercontinental Title is seen as a stepping stone to a bigger and brighter future in the WWE (see Bret Hart, Mr. Perfect, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Gunther, etc.). Remember Breakker’s one loss in his 4-1 non-DQ finish matches? It was against Sami Zayn at the last WWE PLE. If he were to lose again, it would seem unlikely Breakker would get another title shot anytime soon. The second-generation WWE superstar is ready to avenge that blemish on his record.

Honestly, the odds aren’t great, but the crowning of Breakker feels like a surefire bet to take place in Cleveland on Saturday.

Bet: Bron Breakker (-3000)

Longshot Bet: Drew McIntyre (-325) vs. CM Punk (+215)

I’ve been tracking the SummerSlam 2024 betting odds over the past few weeks for any potential line movement. On July 24, the odds for this match were Drew McIntyre (-150) and CM Punk (+110). As you can see, the odds have widened, massively, in favor of McIntyre since then. The Scottish Warrior has been a man on a mission ever since CM Punk screwed him out of the World Heavyweight Title at Clash At The Castle and played an integral part in his failed Money In The Bank cash-in attempt last month.

McIntyre is a heavy favorite, so why take a longshot bet on CM Punk? According to Cagematch.net, CM Punk has not fought in a 1-on-1 televised WWE match since January 20, 2014 (vs. Billy Gunn, win on Monday Night Raw). Fun fact: Billy Gunn has been involved in a total of 332 matches since then. CM Punk’s last notable PLE (then known as Pay-Per-Views aka PPVs) appearance before his company departure was at the 2014 Royal Rumble in which he was the No. 1 entrant and lasted 49 minutes before being eliminated. He quit the company the next day.

We are looking at a period of nearly 3,900 days/10.5 years since CM Punk wrestled 1-on-1 in a WWE ring on national TV. (He has wrestled two non-televised house show matches since his WWE return.) Would WWE really make CM Punk lose in his first big-time singles match since his infamous departure?

Storyline-wise, having CM Punk do the job to Drew McIntyre makes sense. The Straight Edge Savior has screwed over McIntrye enough times that it’s time for the “babyface” to get one over on his adversary. Or is it? The theme of this feud has been how McIntyre keeps getting screwed over. And over. And over. Look for that theme to continue at SummerSlam. Either at the hands of Punk or Seth Rollins. It’s also hard to get over how long it’s been since CM Punk was in a noteworthy televised wrestling match for WWE. In the history of professional wrestling, this is a big moment for the history books. Look for CM Punk to somehow pull off the upset victory.

Bet: CM Punk (+215)

Prop Bet: Dominik Interferes in Rhea Match 1st Used Weapon

Weapons of Choice & Odds

  • Chair: +250
  • Belt: +300
  • Fist: +300
  • Kick: +400
  • Brass Knuckles: +700
  • Table: +1000
  • Referee: +1200
  • Mr Fuji Salt: +3300

Let’s face it, if you’re betting on scripted professional wrestling matches you’re doing so for fun without a worry of losing money. This bet is the definition of ‘I’m just here to have fun.’ Dominik Mysterio has played the part of cowardly heel to perfection. What better way for a coward to interfere (on purpose or inadvertently) in a match than by using the referee as a shield/weapon? At +1200 odds, it’s worth sprinkling a few bucks on.

Bet: Dominik Interferes in Rhea Match 1st Used Weapon – Referee (+1200)

Prop Bet: Will Cody Rhodes Bleed?

Odds

  • No: -200
  • Yes: +150

With only seven matches announced to date, BetOnline added a ton of fun prop bets to choose from. This is the only prop I feel is mispriced.

It’s been the mission of The New Bloodline and Solo Sikoa to destroy everything and everyone in its path — including Cody Rhodes. This match screams it will have a little color (aka blood).

It’s hard to envision Cody Rhodes not taking a 2-on-1 or more beatdown of sorts or being hit in the head with a foreign object (like a chair) or being thrown through a table/the announce desk. You get it. It won’t take much for Rhodes to bleed.

One of Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa or Jacob Fatu will make The American Nightmare gush blood this weekend. At plus-odds, this feels like an easy bet to cash.

Bet: Will Cody Rhodes Bleed? – Yes (+150)
